In the Pit of Desolation stands at the beginning of La Parábola.

This work marks the first threshold of the symbolic universe I have been building through painting, music, and poetry. It is not only the beginning of a series, but the beginning of a condition: the human being confronting his own fracture.

This painting belongs to Imposibilitados, the first series in the larger narrative of my work. In this series, the human being appears wounded, limited, and unable to escape the condition that holds him. Here, the struggle is still raw. The fall has already happened, but clarity has not yet arrived.

This is why this work is the genesis of all the series that came after. The distortion, fading, paradox, and awakening that unfold later in La Parábola are already contained here in seed form. Painted in 2008, this work marks the point from which the rest of that symbolic narrative begins to emerge.

My work does not seek to decorate a wall, but to bring into a space a presence capable of confronting, accompanying, and revealing. In the Pit of Desolation is the first sign of that search.
