In the vast silence of the void, Ciudad Máquina No.24 unfolds like a reliquary suspended between the past and the future. Its structure, resembling an eroded cathedral, defies the logic of gravity, standing firm thanks to a network of ethereal lines that keep it hovering on the threshold of existence.
The architectural details suggest that it was once a center of life and knowledge, a relic of a civilization that may still persist somewhere in the folds of time. Yet, the deterioration at its edges and the fractures in its design speak of an inevitable decline—a city that, though floating, is doomed to ruin.
Above and below, small vessels seem to orbit the main structure in a delicate dance. Are they explorers searching for answers? Are they fragments of the same city attempting to rebuild themselves in the void? Their winding trajectories hint at a lost connection, a failed attempt to return to a home that no longer exists.
Inspired by La Parábola, this work is a visual meditation on the fragility of the structures we consider eternal. Human history is filled with civilizations that, at their peak, seemed indestructible yet now survive only as ruins.
