Vertigo No.1 (Prints)

"Vértigo No. 1" portrays a fragment of my poem La Parábola. In the poem, a man wanders through life, immersed in profound anguish, seeking relief from a consuming pain. Along his path, he encounters Adam and Eve. Silently, they observe him and, in response, perform an enigmatic dance. Through this ritual movement, they assemble a machine and connect him to it. He inhales the fragrance of the fruit they offer, and in that instant, his pain and sorrow fade away.

But the peace is fleeting. When he awakens from the calming effect of the fruit, he realizes with horror that ten thousand years have passed, spent walking in circles on a structure, trapped in a prison without walls, where a raging ocean serves as his only barrier. This dark and turbulent ocean surrounds him endlessly, reflecting his despair and his eternal struggle to escape the illusion of calm in which he has been ensnared.

"Vértigo No. 1" captures that moment of realization, the instant the man becomes aware of his confinement and the magnitude of his torment. The intense blue tones and deep shadows evoke the power of the ocean, while the spiraling waves drag him toward a dark center, like a vortex consuming his will and condemning him to repeat his steps in an endless cycle. The solitary structure at the center represents both the illusion of stability and the trap that keeps him captive, locked in his own inner vertigo.

This piece invites the viewer to confront their own fears and the possibility of being trapped in their own cycles, challenging them to consider the temptation of temporary solutions and the challenge of finding a true awakening.
